How Much Does Hypnotherapy Cost in London?

By Shahin Gurbanov, certified hypnotherapist

Hypnotherapy

Hypnotherapy in London does not have one standard price. Directory listings show first appointments ranging from under £100 to several hundred pounds, depending on the therapist and the location. With me, the first session is currently £199 or £249, depending on what you want help with, and every further session is £100.

What changes the price of hypnotherapy in London?

Two practitioners can charge very different amounts for what looks like the same service. These are the things that usually explain the difference:

  1. Location. A consulting room at a premium address costs more to run, and that cost reaches the fee.
  2. Training and experience. Fees tend to reflect how long a therapist trained and how many patients they have worked with.
  3. Session length. A session of one hour and a session of two hours are not the same, so compare the time you actually get.
  4. What is included. Some practitioners charge separately for the first consultation, for recordings or for follow-up support. Others include them.
  5. In person or online. Online sessions need no travel and no room hire, which can lower the cost.

What my fees include

My sessions usually last between one and two hours. The length depends on how your subconscious mind responds, so it varies from person to person. Before any payment we have a free consultation, where we talk about what you want to change and I ask you some safety questions. You then decide whether you want to go ahead.

Fees at a glance

  1. £199 for the first session: anxiety, phobias, bad habits, confidence, and migraines and headaches.
  2. £249 for the first session: insomnia, stopping smoking, panic attacks, PTSD, depression, stammering and addiction.
  3. £100 for each further session.

Prices can change, so please check the treatments page for the current fee of the treatment you need.

How payment and cancellation work

After the free consultation you can take your time to decide. If you agree to go ahead, payment is made upfront to reserve the session. Once you have agreed and paid, the session cannot be cancelled, so it is worth asking every question you have during the consultation.

Questions to ask any hypnotherapist about fees

  1. How long does a session last, and is the time fixed?
  2. Is the first consultation free or charged?
  3. Are there any extra costs, such as recordings or follow-up support?
  4. What happens if I want to cancel or move my appointment?
  5. How many sessions do you expect I may need, and why?

Does a higher price mean better hypnotherapy?

Not necessarily. A high fee tells you about the practice's costs, not about the results you can expect. A better guide is clear information about training, honest descriptions of what to expect and genuine reviews from patients. I am a certified hypnotherapist with 500 hours of training, and my practice is rated 5.0 from over 200 Google reviews.
